Empowering Through Education
Education is a gift that stays with the individual till his last breath. It is an invaluable tool in enhancing the productivity of individuals and the nation as a whole. Education liberates the minds of individuals to an elevated state of understanding and potential. It strengthens democracy, propels innovation, helps weed out social evils, encourages harmony and is an essential trigger for development and prosperity.
Just like healthcare, education too suffers from two key issues - accessibility and affordability. To combat these challenges, INOX provides scholarships to students from economically marginalised backgrounds and develops enabling infrastructure to widen the reach and effectiveness of various academic institutions, with the aim of creating leaders for tomorrow.
INOX has contributed to support the education of deserving and ambitious students from IITs through six scholarships. These scholarships are awarded on merit-cum-means basis for students whose parents' annual income is less than INR 4.5 lakhs.
Through United Way of Baroda, we have been sponsoring the college expenses, study material and food & hostel expenses of 5 deserving students belonging to low income group families.
To encourage higher education among students, we have been providing 50 scholarships, of INR 20,000 each, to students in the Medical, Engineering, IT, Architecture and Management fields through Priyadarshini Academy. The goal is to extend support to students from low income backgrounds and help them to excel in their chosen fields.
Similarly, we have identified 100 urban-poor children, especially orphans and children raised by a single parent, through the Savera Education Sponsorship Programme and have been contributing INR 10,000 to support their education.

We have also been supporting the education of 7 girls through 'Nanhi Kali' - a long running programme that ensures girls receive all the support necessary to reach their full potential, and to break the cycle of female illiteracy.
For many students, especially those who come from non-English speaking backgrounds, not knowing the language hampers their academic and professional growth. Thus, to create equal opportunity, we have been supporting a social initiative by Bombay Community Public Trust that teaches English to teachers and students of vernacular medium schools in Maharashtra, using audio visual aid.
The Balwadi Project that we support, addresses the educational as well as health and nutritional needs of slum children between 1 to 6 years of age.The project is spread across seven different slum areas of Vadodara.

We are supporting a project that aims to establish 100 'One Teacher Schools (OTS)' in remote tribal areas. The OTS concept is in line with what Swami Vivekananda had said about taking school to the door of the child, if the child cannot come to school. These schools impart one-on-one training to students and help them become independent, confident learners, after which they are encouraged to join mainstream schools. Plugging the gaps in infrastructure at schools has gone a long way in improving scholastic performance and infusing confidence in children.
Nalanda Vidyalaya at Ghoghamba, has been striving to provide quality education to students coming from poor families around the region. Due to paucity of funds, the school faced a shortage of classrooms. We helped them overcome this challenge by contributing to build classrooms.
INOX has collaborated with HN Safal Foundation and has built a boarding school for poor and underprivileged girls in Kadi village, 90 kms from Ahmedabad. The hostel has 31 rooms and is completely operational.
INOX provided funds to Pune Police Public School, which is a unique school that has 50% seats reserved for children of police personnel and 50% for civilians. The school has been striving to ensure all round development of students that covers physical, mental, moral and social growth.
IITs are globally acknowledged for their excellence in scientific and technical education and research. We are contributing to these centres of educational excellence, by helping create advanced infrastructural facilities, like the INOX Chemical Reactor Engineering Laboratory.
Currently, a quarter of our children drop out of high school every year. The need of the hour is to embrace the challenge that the government and society face, in terms of transforming education in a holistic way. And this is not just limited to upgrading technology, but also about bringing innovation to schools.
With the aim of elevating learning experiences and bringing next-generation ideas, technologies and curriculum to classrooms, the Chief Minister of Puducherry initiated a project to make the quality of education at government schools equivalent to those at private schools. To contribute to the same, we have helped build 10 smart classrooms in government schools in Bahour and Karakal jurisdiction. This initiative will help bridge the digital gap in education between rural and urban India.
INOX provided financial aid to Servants of the People Society, which is an NGO associated with Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan Anguridevi Shersingh Memorial Academy. The Academy is an Integrated Senior Secondary School with a pre-vocational training centre. The financial aid provided by INOX is used for the upgradation of the speech therapy Room, setting up of school medical unit, upgradation of smart class system and setting up of a digital lab.
